Our Roatan Resort's Luxurious Full-Service Marina
Looking for comfortable and secure moorage for your yacht, cruiser, or sailboat? Slip in to our private, full-service, boutique marina located at Barefoot Cay Resort in Roatan, Honduras, Central America. We offer 850 linear feet of dock space with side-tie moorage, and we can accommodate yachts of any length with up to a 9 foot draft.
The cay and shore-side marinas feature concrete construction with stout cleats. In addition, both the cay and shore sides have long wooden docks for additional moorage and for tying tenders. A boat-launch ramp is located on the shore side of the 75 foot wide channel that separates Barefoot Cay from the south shore of the island of Roatan.
Electricity, water, fuel, and immigration clearing services are all available at the Barefoot Cay Marina. We also provide provisioning service, laundry, and hot water showers. Wireless satellite Internet service is available at the marina or on a guest computer in the office. The electrical pedestals are wired to U.S. standards and all have both 120V 30A and 240V 50A service. Water is available. All water is purified by filtration through charcoal, then sterilization by UV light, and is individually metered at the pedestals.
Marina guests are welcome to use our provisioning service or indulge in our dining and beverage services. Dine in the pool cabana, crow's nest, gazebo, or enjoy "room service" with meals delivered directly to your boat or yacht. Many marina guests find that they cannot resist the scrumptious smells coming from the Barefoot Cay kitchen, and enjoy delectable homemade limonatas and snacks by the pool. For dining options, see our Dining and beverage page.
The marina is most easily reached through the Brick Bay entrance with a turn east as shown on the chart below, on which coordinates are listed. Enter keeping the outer stake close to starboard, then take the next two stakes to starboard approximately 50 feet. There is deep water to the marina. Access is also possible from the French Harbour entrance, however due to a shoal northeast of Barefoot Cay, we suggest using the Brick Bay entrance.

"My friends & I live across the Bay from you in Belize and recently visited Roatan by sailboat and stayed in Barefoot Cay’s lovely marina. I’m writing to convey how much we enjoyed our 4-day visit with you and to hopefully pass on some compliments to your staff. Everyone was so friendly & helpful, and really made us feel welcome. We especially appreciated Mel in the office and Santos out on the grounds, and of course everyone else, from the ferryboat men, to the kitchen staff and grounds/housekeepers, all the way to the night watchman. Even the parrot had good things to say each day.
As my friends and I are Divemasters and Instructors here in Belize, of course we did some diving through Barefoot Cay’s dive shop, which we all considered to be a top notch facility. Really well run and organized. The Dive Shop staff were all fantastic folks.
Anyhow, great job to everyone! We’ll be back and hope that Barefoot Cay maintains its flavor and spirit. Thanks to All!"
Like Nothing Else
Lori and I spent 32 days at Barefoot Cay Resort in their marina. Arriving after a very rough 44 hour passage it was welcome sight. The resort sent out an escort boat, which led us from the channel entrance into the marina.
…The Marina facility is small compared to others more commercial marinas, but the surroundings are beautiful! We were within about 75 feet of the pool, bathrooms and restaurant. The marina bathroom facilities rival some of the more expensive hotels and were always very clean.
The landscaping around the marina and on the rest of the island makes you feel like you parked you boat in someone's well tended tropical garden.
We have stayed at several resort marinas in the last several years and found that boaters are sometimes treated differently than "normal" guest. Not at Barefoot Cay! We spent a lot of time in the resort and found all the staff incredibly friendly and courteous.
The restaurant, located next to the pool, has wonderful food and staff.
When we made reservations via email, Mel was very responsive and fast! She returned our initial email within 2 hours of writing. As a comparison, we had emailed another marina on the island, which took 24 hours to respond to our inquiry. Frankly, Mel's fast and courteous emails were the reason we chose Barefoot Cay Resort.
Stephanie in the office was always very helpful and sorted out some shipping problems we had, and provided local knowledge on the island. She always made us feel like family.
We have been fulltime cruising for 31 months now from San Francisco to Roatan. This was a wonderful vacation from the sailing life.
Barefoot Cay Resort & Marina is like nothing else we have found and well worth a stop over!
