  • PADI Specialties

    Peak Performance Buoyancy

    $ 185 2 Dives

    Excellent buoyancy control is what defines skilled scuba divers. Learn to glide effortlessly, use less air, and observe aquatic life without disturbing your surroundings.


    Drift Diver

    $ 185 2 Dives

    Drift diving can be relaxing and exhilarating. The course teaches you how to enjoy going with the flow as you scuba dive down rivers and use ocean currents to glide along.


    Boat Diver

    $ 185 2 Dives

    Much of the world’s best scuba diving is accessible only by boat. If you’ve never made a boat dive, the PADI Boat Diver Specialty course will benefit you.


    Underwater Navigator

    $ 235 3 Dives

    Be the scuba diver everyone wants to follow because you know where you are and where you’re going. This course fine-tunes your observation skills and teaches you to more accurately use your compass underwater. If you like challenges with big rewards, take this course and have fun finding your way.


    Night Diver

    $ 235 3 Dives

    The underwater world changes as day creatures retire & nocturnal organisms emerge. If you've wondered what happens underwater after the sun goes down, enroll in this course. Please note that this specialty is only offered conditionally based on weather and minimum numbers.


    Deep Diver

    $ 295 4 Dives

    Explore deeper dive sites with confidence at depths down to 130 ft. Learn to manage your air supply, go over buddy contact procedures, and buoyancy control.


    Wreck Diver

    $ 285 4 Dives

    Ships, airplanes and even cars are fascinating to explore and usually teem with aquatic life. Each wreck dive offers a chance for a new discovery. The PADI Wreck Diver Specialty course is popular because it offers rewarding adventures while observing responsible wreck diving practices.


    Search & Recovery

    $ 295 4 Dives

    Retrieve lost items that have fallen overboard or over a dock. There are effective ways to search for objects underwater that increase your chances of success. And there are good and better methods to bring up small, large or just awkward items. Search and recovery can be challenging, but a whole lot of fun.


    PADI Adventure Dive

    $ 75 1 Dive

    Try one adventure dive of a specific specialty with corresponding theory and confined water sessions if applicable. Log book and manual required (manual can be purchased for $40). Choose from Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift Diver, Boat Diver, Night Diver (subject to conditions & minimum numbers), Deep Diver, or Wreck Diver.


  • PADI Adventure Diver

    $ 250

    A subset of the PADI Advanced Open Water Diver course, the PADI Adventure Diver course is a great opportunity to work with your instructor to build your scuba skills and gain more confidence

    Course Components

    Get a taste of what you like with 3 Adventure Dives (plus corresponding knowledge development), and enjoy scuba diving more than ever. For the Adventure Dives, choose from Peak Performance Buoyancy, Drift Diver, Boat Diver, Night Diver (subject to conditions & minimum numbers), Deep Diver, or Wreck Diver

    A log book is required (available for purchase at Barefoot Divers)


  • PADI Advanced Open Water Diver

    $ 360

    Advance your diving by building confidence and expanding your scuba skills through different Adventure Dives

    Course Components

    - Knowledge Development, completed in the classroom with the instructor, plus some reading to do on your own time in the evenings *

    - 5 Adventure Dives including a Deep dive and Underwater Navigation dive, with the remaining 3 dives selected by the student and instructor (we recommend Peak Performance Buoyancy, Wreck, and Drift dives)

    2-3 days

    It's possible to complete the Knowledge Development segment prior to your arrival via PADI's eLearning module in order to finish the course more quickly once here, and spend more time enjoying your vacation. The cost of eLearning paid directly to PADI through their website, and eLearning takes 8-10 hours. Once here, finishing the course with Barefoot Divers is $300, and takes up to 2 days

    Logbook required (available for purchase at Barefoot Divers)

    This certification allows a diver to dive to 100 feet


  • PADI Enriched Air Diver

    The most popular PADI specialty course. Scuba diving with enriched air (Nitrox) gives you less decompression time, especially on repetitive scuba dives

    This course consists primarily of Knowledge Development, after which there's 1 dive with enriched air (Nitrox)

  • PADI Rescue Diver

    $ 420

    Learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver. Scuba divers describe the PADI Rescue Diver course as the most challenging, yet most rewarding course they’ve ever taken. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning

    Course Components

    Through Knowledge Development* and rescue exercises, you learn what to look for in emergency situations and how to respond. During rescue scenarios, you put into practice your knowledge and skills. Topics include:

    - Self rescue

    - Recognizing and managing stress in other divers

    - Emergency management and equipment

    Rescuing panicked or unresponsive divers

    It's possible to complete the Knowledge Development segment prior to your arrival via PADI's eLearning module in order to finish the course more quickly once here, and spend more time enjoying your vacation.     - Adventure Diver or Advanced Open Water Diver certification

    - CPR/First Aid & Secondary Care within 24 months**

    **PADI emergency first response

    If you need to fulfill the CPR/First Aid & Secondary Care prerequisite for the PADI Rescue Diver course, you can take the PADI Emergency First Response course at Barefoot Divers. This specialty focuses on building confidence in lay rescuers and increasing their willingness to respond when faced with a medical emergency. The course is $130 and takes 1 full day (from 8am to 4pm) in the classroom with your instructor
